Pre-Kindergarten Screening (3 and 4 year old)

Welcome to the Pre-Kindergarten registration page! We are currently accepting registrations for the upcoming Fall 2024-2025 Fall Screening for residents of North Palos School District 117! Your child must be born between 9/2/2019-9/1/2021 to be eligible for the program.

 
If you have already screened with us in the Spring, there is no need to register for this screening.  If your child is currently enrolled in preschool, you do not need to register for this screening.  
 
Guidelines
If you reside within the boundaries of Sorrick School:  South of 95th Street or reside at 8800 South Harlem, please click HERE to submit your registration.  
 
If you reside within the boundaries of Dorn School:  North of 95th Street,please click HERE to submit your registration.  

 

Please note** Once you submit your registration, you will not receive a call back until 6-8 weeks prior to the screening dates. The building secretaries will call you to bring in the required paperwork. Appointments for screening will not be secured for any family who has not provided the required paperwork.

 

Preschool FAQS 

*Registration to be screened is NOT an automatic placement within the program.* 

  • See fliers for all required paperwork needed to secure an appointment.  
  • An appointment for screening does NOT result in a guaranteed placement within the program.
  • You will not receive an immediate call from the building secretary once you register. The building secretaries will call you 6-8 weeks prior to the selected screening dates.
  • Screenings and open enrollment for Dorn and Sorrick are conducted on different days. Make sure you are following the guides for the school your child would attend if eligible.
  • If your child is not accepted into the program, he/she will be placed on an automatic waitlist until they are Kindergarten age.
  • Pre-K is a half-day program:
    • morning session 9:00-11:30 AM
    • afternoon session 12:45-3:15 PM.
  • Pre-K students attend school five days per week; Monday – Friday.
  • The determination of AM or PM placement is determined in a manner to be most conducive to a heterogeneous pupil classroom model and which is designed to meet the individual needs of students. No requests will be taken.
  • Pre-K is a free program. Bus transportation is also free.
